SYDNEY, Australia (CNN) -- Australian pop princess Kylie Minogue has made a dramatic return to her homeland after breaking down on the Paris set of her new video, a report said Saturday.

Her flight to a luxury resort in West Australia with her mother has led to speculation in the local press that the 34-year-old Minogue may be on the brink of a burn-out after a year of chart-topping hits.

Minogue has faced increased attention recently over her on-again, off-again relationship with boyfriend James Gooding.

Speaking from London on Friday, Gooding confirmed to a Sydney newspaper that Minogue was taking a long break.

"She is doing absolutely nothing for six months, which is great for her," he told The Daily Telegraph.

"She is not bringing out a new album until the end of 2003."

Minogue, who marked the 15th anniversary of her singing career this year, flew to the luxurious Cable Beach Resort, near Broome on the remote West Australian coast, with her mother on Wednesday.

The paper reports the pair plan to "cut themselves off from the world and study Aboriginal spiritual teachings."
