Milan wil be hoping to get their hands on more silverware this season.

Milan are the star attractions in the tournament after failing to qualify for the Champions League having finished fifth in Serie A last season.

While Zuriich are likely to hold few fears for the likes of Kaka and newly-acquired Andriy Shevchenko, Friday's draw in Monte Carlo threw up some intriguing matchups.

Belgian champions Standard Liege must travel to Merseyside again as they take on Premier League Everton.

Liege put up a tremendous fight against Everton's neighbors Liverpool in the final qualifying round of the Champions League, only succumbing to a Dirk Kuyt goal two minutes from the end of extra time.

In other key ties, two-time UEFA champions Sevilla face Austrian club Salzburg while their Spanish rivals Valencia take on Portugal's Maritimo.

Dutch giants Ajax drew Serbian club Borac, while Serie A side Sampdoria face Kaunas of Lithuania.

The match between Napoli of Italy and Portugal's Benfica is also eagerly-awaited.

Premier League Tottenham Hotspur were handed a tricky contest against Polish champions Wisla Krakow, who were eliminated from the Champions League on Tuesday but still managed a 1-0 home win over Spain's Barcelona.

"The second leg will be away. They beat Barcelona the other night," Tottenham's sporting director Damien Comolli told Sky Sports News.

"They are very passionate fans so we will have to do very well at home to start with."

80 teams went into Friday's draw with the first round being played on September 18 and October 2.

The winners go though into the group stages for a competition won last season by Russian side Zenit St. Petersburg, who are playing Manchester United for the European Super Cup in Monte Carlo on Friday night.
