Maggie Lake is an anchor and correspondent for CNN International's business news programs. She is based out of CNN's New York headquarters.
Lake joined CNN in January 2001. Reporting live from the New York Stock Exchange, she provides daily in-depth market coverage for Business International and World Business Today. Her regular updates include the latest on investor sentiment, companies on the move and analysis of economic numbers. From the financial fallout surrounding the September 11th attacks on America to the verdict on the Microsoft anti-trust case, Lake provides up to the minute reports on breaking financial news stories. She also contributes to global news shows such as Insight and Q&A.
Before joining CNN, Lake worked for 8 years at the news agency Reuters. In various reporting roles for Reuters Television in New York she provided coverage of U-S bond, stock and currency markets; interviewed Fortune 500 CEO's and reported on the 1998 global financial crisis. Moving to London in 1999, Lake anchored programs covering top business stories from around the world, including interviews with finance ministers and leading policy officials. Lastly, she served a senior reporter on the print side for Reuters in New York.
Lake holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Boston University, graduating Magna cum Laude. She also studied at Oxford University, England.
