CNN's monthly sailing show 'MainSail' continues to explore one of the world's most exhilarating, glamorous and toughest sports. 'MainSail' brings viewers the latest from the biggest sailing events, plus technology and business aspects of the sport. The show also showcases human endeavours accomplished by some of the world's greatest sailors plus keeps viewers up-to-date with the latest news concerning the major races and regattas around the world.
Double Olympic sailing gold medalist Shirley Robertson, who started sailing at the age of seven, is the host of 'MainSail'. Robertson is the only British female athlete to have won gold medals at consecutive Olympic Games. After success in 2000 at the Millennium Olympic Games in Sydney, Shirley turned her attentions to the new Yngling class three person boat, and in 2004 she was rewarded her second Gold Medal at the Athens Olympics.
Now Shirley continues to race professionally away from the Olympic circuit at selected events on the JPMorgan Asset Management Extreme 40 catamaran, while she also gets to spend more time with her one-year old twins.
